Can you believe that I was featured in the May issue of Redbook magazine?! Yay!

The day from beginning to end and the shoot for “The Magic of a Great Dress” was such a dream come true.

Also worth noting is that it was quite possibly the longest time I’ve ever had to keep something under wraps. The shoot was on February 18th and the May issue hit stands in April. I couldn’t even post an IG picture, you guys! Can you imagine?

Whew…glad the cat is finally out of the bag!

Here’s a little recap and some snaps from the day.

The concept for Redbook’s feature was to capture women who are all family in one way or another while showcasing fun spring dresses. For this amazing opportunity, I asked my very own sister to be a part of the shoot with me.

We were asked to come to the shoot with clean hair and fresh faces so here we are au natural bright and early that fine Saturday morning of the shoot.

We were super excited, plus, we’re dorky like that, so yea…

The shoot location was in New York, in such a great space. We walked in, and the vibe was right on point. They had the Chaka Kahn station playing on Pandora radio (swoon), and there was a big spread of food…everything to make us very comfortable from beginning to end.

Of course, there was the hair, makeup, nail and wardrobe teams to make us look right from head to toe.

And guys, the seamstress on set had a sewing machine with a unicorn and Hello Kitty stickers.

It was my kinda people for sure.

After getting some food in my belly and getting acquainted with the whole scene, I went over to start getting shoot ready.

After getting all dolled up, I felt like a whole new person. My glam squad hooked it up.

Hair by: Erin Taylor

Makeup by: Corinne Tweed

Nails by: Rachel Shim (aka the Cuticle Whisperer…a name given to her by the one and only Amy Schumer)

On a side note, can I just have these ladies follow me around everywhere I go? They are seriously bomb!

Finally, it was shoot time.

Everyone on set was so great, and we had the pleasure of working with the one and only Robert Maxwell who has shot a ton of celebrities, and is a creative genius.

Here is the final image that made it into the pages of the magazine.
