This will not be your “typical” post about New York Fashion Week, but then again, I’m not your typical blogger. I know it’s a dream for a lot of people to be a part of it, and I would be lying to you if I didn’t admit it’s personally been a dream of my own to attend New York Fashion Week. I’m happy to say this dream finally came true! I was invited to events and runway shows for NYFW with my own credentials as a fashion blogger {insert jazz hands}!!

Thanks goes out to Style Collective and Annie Spano for all the support along the way. Everything was as fabulous as I always imagined. It was a whirlwind that blew my mind to say the least, and was also very exhausting, but I loved every minute of it.

Here’s my own personal recap of New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017/2018

Day 1

Mother Nature is just funny like that because of course, the first day, there were blizzard conditions on the East Coast! Go figure. But hey, the show must go on. Sadly, I had to give away my tickets for that day, and I missed amazing runway shows by Nicholas K, Ane Amour, Malan Breton, Katie Gallagher, and Michael Costello. It was supposed to be a day full of back to back shows for me, but alas, Mother Nature won that day…sigh. I look forward to covering these designers and more next season in September.

Day 2

On Day 2 of NYFW, I braved the elements to attend the Dan Liu runway show. It was really cold and the city streets were a combination of ice and slush, so I went with a real outfit and snow boots – yep!

The theme of the Dan Liu Fall/Winter 2017/2018 collection was “The Fairy Tale of Autumn” and it was just beautiful. The show included versatile looks, with models sporting a variety of dresses with different patterns, styles, and cuts. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show:

Next up, was Chinese luxury designer LANYU who debuted the Fall/Winter 2017 Collection at New York Fashion Week.  This show was absolutely stunning. Inspired by her mother’s hometown, the designer showcased her collection with 40 looks incorporating soothing mint and jade hues, as well as power pink (my personal favorite) and sky tones. Feminine dresses and romantic details took the stage on the models that day.

Here are some of my favorites:

Next, I headed over to a Style Soiree with Stylinity hosted by Lulu Frost. Supermodel Veronica Webb  spent the afternoon chatting with Gergana Ivanova  from Fashion is my Fortee on their journey in the fashion and blogging industry. It was so great to hear their motivational and inspiring stories, all while sipping on some bubbles…not bad for a Friday afternoon in February.

Bonus: Veronica Webb is maybe the sweetest person you could ever meet.

I was super exhausted after all that, so I’m pretty sure I just went to grab a burger, and headed home to get ready for the next full day…

Day 3

ShopStyle Social House was the highlight of NYFW Day 3 for me. Meeting so many new people, blogger babes, fashion lovers, more bubbly, and racks of gorgeous clothes…these were a few of my favorite things!

The pink rack was my favorite…obviously…

After ShopStyle Social House, I headed to a fabulous dinner at Tao Downtown with my SC Sisters. The food, the service and the ambience was amazing. We had a great time.

Day 4

The next day was followed by brunch at Pennsylvania 6 with my Style Collective Sisters. More bubbly…more good times, and fashion shows…a perfect Sunday!

Next I was off to the Leanne Marshall runway show, about to have my mind blown.

Here’s what I wore at the Papyrus lounge in Skylight Clarkson.

Leanne Marshall‘s FW17 runway show was truly a fantasy collection that took my breath away. Her designs included silk chiffon dresses and gowns, silk charmeuse and lace. Every piece in her collection was romantic and feminine, in colors ranging from mauve, chocolate and red, to tan, taupe and shell pink, gray, black and ivory. This show was truly breathtaking and what dreams are made of.

Here a few of my favorite looks:

Day 5

Day 5 started with luxurious pampering at DreamDry. I felt like a cute little ballerina after they washed my hair and toweled me up to get me ready for my blowout.

And of course, more bubbly as I got my hair done.

Here’s the finished look. I felt like one of Charlie’s Angels. Nothing wrong with a little pampering after days of running around to different shows and events.

Day 6

And we arrive at Day 6 of NYFW, which fell on February 14th, Valentine’s Day. Of course there was no fashion show or event that was going to keep me away from spending time with my lil man, because #priorities…

Thank you so much for reading. My first New York Fashion Week is in the books.

Can’t wait for September!

After some much needed rest, of course…

xoxo Karen
