bathroom

The beauty of renovation is that it gives your home a fresh start. We’ve been in our house for about 7 years now, and while we’ve done a lot of renovation, almost all of it has been outside (the backyard, the deck, the landscaping, etc.). Finally, this year my husband and I decided to make some upgrades inside the house { can I get an Amen?! }. Now granted, I’m not gonna lie to you and say that it was all a piece of cake. To be real, it was a stressful pain in the ass! But in the end, all worth it…the bathroom is now complete and it’s one of the happiest rooms in my house…geeze, I sound like a dude. But seriously, what’s better than a room full of color, bubble baths in a bright shiny new tub, and a beautiful piece of art that makes you happy?

I finally got the shelves I’ve always wanted above the, ahem, royal throne, and of course I couldn’t wait to jazz up the room a bit and add a little extra decor! While I love everything in the new bathroom, my absolute favorite addition is the framed art called “Dream Theory”. I can’t draw or paint for my life, but I would imagine that every artist wants to evoke emotion with their work. This beauty does just that. Every time I look at it, I can’t help but smile, be happy, and get lost in my daydreams.

In more renovation news, just today, we started a little face lift in our kitchen. It won’t be a complete overhaul, but a nice granite counter top will make a huge difference!

I’m excited about the improvements we’re making and I can’t tell you enough how much I love my casita. It’s not the biggest or most perfect house there is, but it’s the first one I’ve owned with my husband, and together with our son and our dog, we’ve made it a place to call home.

After all, home is where the heart is.

Onto the next project!

Here are a few more pix of our small bathroom renovation and the decor. Yes, that’s a little plastic crocodile and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toothpaste. My son wanted to add some accents too…

It sure does. I have my eye on a beautiful print from an artist I found on Instagram and I might just have to take the plunge. I can use a little something extra pretty for my living room…heeee

Sounds promising 🙂

Thanks, Rakhi! Awesome! It changes the space so much. Even though it’s small, you have to find ways to spruce it up 🙂 I’d love to see your pix when you’re done! Good luck!
